The 2011 season was a series of "booms and busts." There were multiple days of cap busts and other days with tornadoes, hail, lightning and beautiful sunset storms. I managed to see tornadoes during the May 24th tornado outbreak and see an unexpected tornado near Ada, Oklahoma after a relaxing day socializing at a storm chaser picnic. Even on days without storms, I had a really great time seeing old friends. Overall, this was a successful chase season.

Although not part of my usual chase trip across Tornado Alley, April 27, 2011 was a wild day in Virginia
