National Storm Chasers Convention

Denver, Colorado 2011

FOR SALE: Eastern Fury (Tornadoes of the Eastern United States)

The National Storm Chaser Convention was held in Denver on February 18th through the 20th. Over 300 storm chasers, meteorology students and researchers converged for two days of lectures, demonstrations, tornado video, networking and partying. The lectures were a nice mixture of severe storm forecasting, basic research, the 2010 storm season and VORTEX 2 data. The keynote speaker was Tim Marshall. Other speakers included researchers from VORTEX (Drs Yvette Richardson and Karen Kosiba), Reed Timmer, Mike Bettes, Dr. John Forbes and Jon Davies. Thanks to Roger Hill and Tim Samaras for organizing the conference. Also, thanks to the speakers and sponsors.
