Storm Chase 2012 (Storm chase images and reports)

May 18 - May 30

The 2012 chase season was unexpectedly good. In April, I had a chance to chase the April 14, 2012 tornado outbreak since it was on a Saturday but blew it off due to very high airfares and the expectation of a great May. By mid-May, the long range pattern was terrible, and I almost delayed my May 18th departure to Tornado Alley. Luckily, I stayed on schedule and was able to video multiple tornadoes in Harper County, Kansas on May 19 including one that shredded a wind turbine. I also photographed an annular eclipse in New Mexico, another tornado in La Crosse, Kansas and multiple supercells across Texas. It was fun getting together with chaser friends and travelling across the Plains.

Total miles: 4627
