Storm Chase 2005 (Storm chase images and reports)

May 13 - May 28

Stock Photgraphy and Video

The 2005 storm chase season was one of my worst since 1997. I arrived on May 13 but couldn't reach the tornadic cells in time. There was a tornado and "hailfest" on May 12. After I arrived, the upper level pattern changed as a ridge moved in and the chance for tornadic supercells almost completely ended. I was forced to chase very marginal situation across the edges of Tornado Alley. Despite the "death ridge," I did manage to see a couple of supercells, wall cloud and gustnado. I also was able to add to my collection of landscape images.

With the exception of the May 23 - 25 storms, the accounts are boring. I do recommend checking out my images of Monument Rocks (aka Chalk Pyramids) in Kansas on May 16 and my landscape images from May 26 and 27 across New Mexico and Kansas.

Click on the picture or text to access the corresponding chase log. There are thumbnail images in the middle or the end of the chase accounts. Click on the small pictures for a larger image.

Images are for sale. If you have questions about image usage, video for television shows, or tornadoes and storm chasing, please see my Storm F.A.Q.
