I observed Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS over multiple days from downtown Richmond and nearby. The comet was faint, but could sometimes be seen with the naked eye. It had a beautiful long tail. Viewing was initially difficult because it appeared low over the horizon at dusk and sank as darkness arrived. The full moon was also problematic. Downtown, it couldn't be observed except with a camera or binoculars. It made its closest apporach to Earth on October 12. By October 21, the comet was fading, but observation was aided by a clear moonless sky.
