I decided to blow off some slight chase possibilities this day so that I could get some rest and prepare for May 24th. Another round of tornadoes was possible. I had not finalized a forecast but decided to stay the night in Valentine, Nebraska. I had a leisurely drive south and stopped along the way to photograph some wildflowers near an abandoned building. There are easy roads to head north or south from Valentine when I determined a target.
